The two Texas Holdem players seated to the left of the dealer are forced to place bets that are referred to as "blinds" to begin the game. Most often the amount of these blind bets will be half of the minimum table limit for the first player, known as the "small blind" and an amount equivalent to the minimum of the game - this is known as the "big blind" bet. 3) This player can "raise" the bet, which means to increase the amount of the bet. The amount of the raise could vary depending on the specific game being played, but you will notice the amount needed shown on the "raise" button, in most cases.

Once the third player has acted, each other online poker player seated to their left has the same options when it is their turn to act during the betting session. This continues around the table, until the action reaches back to the big blind player. This player then has the option to raise the bet at this time, if they choose. But, only when all other poker players have acted and none of them have raised it already. This player does not have to raise, they can simply "call" the bet (or do nothing) since they have already placed money in the pot for the big blind bet.
